Drain backupSnaked the drain line using a Ridgid K-60 drain machine approximately 25 ft from the line cleanout. During the process, a significant amount of root intrusion was encountered inside the drain line. Used a flexshaft from the same cleanout to remove and clean out the remaining roots, improving the condition and flow of the drain line.A video camera inspection was offered to the customer to further assess the condition of the drain line and identify any potential damage or root intrusion. Diagnostic – Basement AreaFound the following issues in the basement area:* Main drain was clogged. * Outside the house, there are two cleanout lines. Both cleanout caps are broken, allowing rainwater and sand to enter the pipe. The sand caused the blockage. * We snaked the drain approximately 36 feet up to the city line. The blockage was approximately 8 feet from the cleanout on the property side. * Once we reached the blockage, the drain started flowing properly. * We tested the system, and it is working fine at this time. * We recommended a video camera inspection to the customer, but he did not want to proceed at this time. * We recommend repairing/replacing both broken cleanout caps to prevent rainwater and sand from entering the drain. * No warranty is provided. A main line backup affecting all three units in the building was successfully cleared after safeguarding the work area with protective drop sheets. To access the main drain system, the toilet was temporarily removed, and a heavy-duty drain auger was run forty-five feet through the line to break up and clear the severe blockage. A post-clearing video camera inspection was conducted, confirming that the main line is entirely open, undamaged, and draining freely across all units. The toilet was securely reinstalled, tested for leaks, and a thorough workspace cleanup was completed.
