Everest Drain & Plumbing has been serving Toronto homes and buildings since 2013. The High Park North Area was developed in 1882 when the old Keele farm and racetrack was divided into lots. The majority of brick houses that survive today were built after Bloor Street was widened post-1st World War.

High Park North falls within the City of Toronto’s Basement Flooding Study Area 44, from Bloor Street to St. Clair Avenue and Jane Street to the Don Valley Parkway.
This area is included in the City’s flood records for the storms on August 19, 2005 and July 8, 2013. A large area of this older part of Toronto is connected to a combined sewer system and when there is a storm, the rainwater and sewage start to flow into the basement drains.
Our crew installs backwater valves, sump pumps, and battery backup systems, and disconnects weeping tiles from the sewer.
The City of Toronto’s Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy covers 80 per cent of the eligible items, up to $6,650 per property. Only City-licensed contractors are allowed and Everest’s license number is T94-4306348.
Homes constructed prior to the mid-1950s can have a lead water service and the majority of detached houses and semis in High Park North are older. Corroded galvanized steel lines, also from that era, lower the water pressure.
Our plumbers will replace the private portion of the line with copper. Then you forward our invoice to the Priority Lead Water Service Replacement Program of the City. The City aims to replace its own section within 12 weeks of approval.
YOUR LOCAL PLUMBING EXPERTS
Proudly serving High Park with reliable plumbing solutions.
Everest Drain & Plumbing provides services to detached homes, semi-detached and the apartments that were built in High Park on the Quebec and Gothic Avenues in the 1960s and 1970s. Wastewater is discharged through common waste stacks and drain power flush cleans the pipes from greasy deposits and mineral scales.
Even the small leak behind drywall or underneath hardwood flooring will cause wood to rot before any sign of staining will occur. Our plumbers locate the leak, fix it and replace the damaged pipe with copper or PEX. We repair faucets, shutoff valves and outdoor hose bibbs as well.
Most side streets in High Park are lined with mature trees, and the tree roots crack into old clay sewer pipes. A sewer camera inspection will locate the actual blockage and its depth. Lateral bursting can be used to replace a broken lateral by pulling a new pipe through the old pipe between two small pits.
Each job gets a flat rate after an on-site inspection, so you know the full cost up front. The repair, the pipe material as well as the accessibility of the pipe shape that price. Items related to flood protection can be eligible for City subsidy.
Early 1900s brick homes conceal tight crawl spaces and odd pipe runs. We do work that others refuse to do and do it right.
We have 306A licensed technicians from Skilled Trades Ontario. You and our team are protected by WSIB and full insurance on all visits.
The flood subsidy requires a contractor with a City of Toronto license. Our license, T94-4306348, meets that rule.

Combined sewers carry rain and sewage in the same pipe. A heavy storm fills that pipe, and the excess water rises back to the lowest opening in your house. This opening is typically the basement floor drain. A backwater valve shuts off the line and prevents flow.
The City will pay 80 per cent of the cost of each eligible item effective November 12, 2025. The caps are $500 for a home plumbing assessment, $1,600 for each backwater valve (up to two valves), $2,250 for a sump pump, $300 for battery backup and $400 for weeping tile severance and capping. Your downspouts must be disconnected from the sewer system or you need a City exemption.
Check the water pipe connected to the meter inside your house. The City says a grey pipe that scratches easily and does not sound hollow when tapped may be lead. You can call 311 to check the City’s records or book our plumbers to confirm.
Yes. Creeks once flowed across Bloor Street west of High Park Avenue and drained into Grenadier Pond. The rail trestle across those creeks was buried in soil in 1915. The present-day Bloor Street is constructed on top of it. Homes on low ground near those old creek beds need a working sump pump.
Yes. We unclog main stacks, replace leaking risers and fix leaks between units in apartment complexes for property managers and owners.
